What we collect
An account is just a username and a securely hashed password, and we never store your password in plain text. If you log catches, we store what you enter (species, notes, photos) and the conditions at that time. Your location is used to fetch conditions and is not sold or shared.
Your location
GPS is used only to look up conditions for the spot you choose. When you make a catch photo public, its map pin is deliberately snapped to roughly a one-kilometer area so your exact spot stays private. Your precise coordinates are never shown publicly.
Photos
Journal photos are private to your account unless you explicitly choose to share one to the public gallery. Public photos may be scanned by AI to tag species and screen for inappropriate content.
Third-party services
We use weather, tide, mapping, and AI providers to deliver the product. Data sent to them is limited to what's needed to answer your request (for example, coordinates to a weather API, or an image you submit for fish identification).
Deleting your data
You can delete any journal entry, saved report, or photo at any time, which removes it and its stored files. To delete your whole account, contact us and we'll remove your data.
